Hakomi Somatic
Therapeutic Coaching
Hakomi Somatic Therapeutic Coaching, is a holistic approach to healing, that integrates mindfulness and a deepened state of body awareness, to help you access core emotions and beliefs. Although sessions include talking, the experiential nature of Hakomi allows you to go deeper into how formative experiences shape your present day experience. By paying attention to gestures, emotions, tone, and tensions, you move into a state of discovery where older belief systems can arise and be met with deep attuned care.

From the Hakomi website Hakomiinstitute.com:
"Hakomi was created by the internationally renowned therapist and author Ron Kurtz (1934-2011) with assistance from a core group of colleagues, Hakomi draws from General Systems Theory and body-centered therapies. Other inspirations come from Reichian work, Bioenergetics, Gestalt, Psychomotor, Feldenkrais, Structural Bodywork, Ericksonian Hypnosis, Focusing, Neurolinguistic Programming, Buddhism, and Taoism.
The method continues to evolve in response to ongoing discoveries in neuroscience, traumatology, attachment theory, and other related fields. While primarily a method of psychotherapy, Hakomi fits with many mind-body, educational, coaching, and wellness modalities."

Hakomi is built on the following principles. The following are an excerpt from their website:

Mindfulness
In the words of Ron Kurtz, “The principle of mindfulness refers to the understanding that real change comes about through awareness, not effort.”
Instead of guessing or interpreting, Hakomi uses mindfulness—a state of relaxed, nonjudgmental awareness–to study, activate, and directly experience the root causes underlying our habitual feelings, thoughts, and behavior. As both practitioner and client embody this deep state of nonjudgmental attention, unconscious material gently surfaces that’s typically inaccessible through conversation alone.

Nonviolence
Hakomi practitioners gently guide the therapeutic process without imposing their perceptions or preferences. They adjust to the spoken and unconscious needs of the client. Another application of nonviolence in Hakomi is befriending “resistance.” Rather than confronting or breaking through resistance, techniques like “Taking Over” support defenses so they naturally soften and reveal the wisdom they carry.

Mind-Body Integration
This principle affirms that mind and body jointly reflect our beliefs about ourselves and the world, influencing how we experience and present ourselves. Hakomi offers many practices for working with somatic material (e.g., habitual movements, gestures, posture, and the body’s structure) to reveal and transform the limiting core beliefs they unconsciously express.

Unity
The unity principle views people as living, organic systems–integral wholes composed of parts. Hakomi sees healing as a process that supports separate and often disconnected parts of the system to communicate so they can function as a harmonious whole. Hakomi practitioners recognize and work with the interdependency of all levels of the human system, including the physical/metabolic, intrapsychic, interpersonal, family, cultural, societal, global, and spiritual.

Organicity
The organicity principle assumes that when all the parts communicate within the whole, we naturally self-direct, self-correct, and self-actualize. Rather than imposing our agenda for healing, we support our clients’ organic unfolding toward wholeness and trust that this is the direction their system will naturally seek.

Loving Presence
Ron Kurtz called the compassionate, open stance of the therapist Loving Presence. He emphasized this relational aspect of mindfulness after reading research indicating that the personhood or inner state of the therapist is at least eight times more predictive of therapeutic success than the methods used (Mahoney, 1991).
The practice of Loving Presence arouses the heart to see beauty in suffering and find grace and ease in being with uncertainty. It cultivates a state of appreciation for the inspiring qualities within each human being and, therefore, every client.
Although Ron never officially added it to his five original principles, we include it here to honor the centrality of loving presence in Hakomi.

Transformational Coaching
Transformational Coaching recognizes that internal change is a catalyst for external change. Similar to the saying "as within so without" it honors the principle that what we alchemize internally changes our world externally. As opposed to perfecting your thoughts, we bring loving curiosity to them creating a nurturing container for you to be witnessed and held. Instead of doubling down on patriarchal values and hustle culture, we trust that your greatest purpose is natural to you and calling you into your most fulfilled life.

As someone who has worked as a successful intuitive for years, I realized that you can give people a map of their future potential, but what they really need is the support to navigate it. I believe that how we serve the world needs to be in flow with with our own soul growth.
If you don't have a vision for your life we will lovingly work at that insight barrier; if you have trouble being in action we will witness what gets in your way; if you are in leadership and burned out we will explore what integration, balance and boundaries feel like; if you have big dreams we will hold even bigger space for them.
My job is to you meet you where you are at and help you birth more of your authentic self and vision into the world.

Akashic Intuitive Guidance

I believe that we are all intuitive but that many of us are trained early to cultivate our rational minds instead of trusting our own perceptive knowing. I have spent years trusting and strengthening my own intuitive gifts which I have shared with hundreds of people. I am both an akashic reader and teacher helping people to trust their own heart's knowing and guiding people to live life from a deeper more soulful place. My readings are offered as single sessions and my classes are offered in person and online bi-annually.
What are the Akashic Records?
Your individual akashic record is a vibrational record of your soul’s journey. In other words, because you exist there is an imprint of you in the quantum field. Every thought, deed and action from this lifetime or others exists within this imprint. Think of the law of conservation of energy, which states that energy can never be created or destroyed, it can only be transformed. As a channel for the akashic, I can can tap into this record and bear witness to how your soul is transforming. Through witnessing your evolution, I can give you clarity on how your choices in life are serving your evolution. My goal is to help you understand the circumstances of your life from a soul level perspective, through a lens of growth, change and unconditional love. Even things that are hard allow us to deepen and expand. When we understand that we are multi-dimensional beings having a human experience we remember how dynamic, forgiving and expansive our lives can be.
